 This was taken by our photographer and by the Queensland academy of arts.In a snippet of an 8 minute interview singer Mihirangi pictured here below. Mihirangi said she did not always know how to write her songs in the Maori language but found someone who helped her write it in Maori the language of New Zealand. She also said it is a lost and almost forgotten language and she spoke about her life and about the Maori culture through her song.

 She also talked about the culture of losing their language and that young people are more influenced by American culture and being thugs and criminals and rap music.
