The local member for Ballina Greens MP Tamara smith was re-elected for another term on Election night on March 20th 2019. It was the first time for the NSW Greens MP to be re-elected. After the seat was held by Don Page member of the nationals for 27 years from 1987 -2015 and retired.
On the night of the NSW state election Tamara Smith was re-elected Antony Green the ABC political analyst called the seat early declaring that Ms Smith was re-elected with the margin of 6.5% swing a first for the Greens party.
I Spoke to Tamara Smith a day after Election Day over the phone and she said.
“I look forward to serving our communities and local area and continue the great effort I have put in over the years and funding many projects. “  My phone call was only for a few minutes. As she was very busy.
There was so much celebrating going on during the night as i watched on tv and flicked the channel from the ABC to Channel 7 Sky and channel 9.
As they had yet to call the seat or the win for Tamara Smith.
I felt really happy for Tamara and our party and its great victory from that night and watched all night to see what other seats that we had won or retained.

We also had retained the seats of Newtown for Jenny leong it has also been the first time for Jenny to be re-elected and Balmain for Jamie Parker and we almost won the seat of Lismore for our candidate Sue Higginson but missed out by 162 votes to Janelle Saffin member of the country Labor party.

They celebrated the win on the night of the Election at the Ocean Shores country club in northern NSW.

Now we will focusing our efforts to getting our candidates elected for the federal election in the seat of page and Richmond on May 18th 2019. I hope that our candidates can win.
